Amazing views. Beautiful. Astonishing. These have been some of the words used to describe Boom’s venue. Since 2002 Boom Festival occurred 4 times at the same venue on the shores of the lake of Idanha-a-Nova. However in 2010 we are changing location. Our main goal is to provide you with a better and more comfortable place to party!

Due to the increasing numbers of public, some of the limitations of the old venue started to arise.

- Being a peninsula, major traffic problems began to appear. It was impossible to widen the access road to get into the peninsula and this caused huge traffic jams. We maintain our apologies for all those that waited for hours in the queue. Thanks for all those that practised the virtue of patience before getting in.
- Due to the fact that it is a cowfarming place all year long we couldn’t control its physical and hygienic conditions throughout the year.
- It is a rugged terrain. That didn’t provide the best conditions for our public to camp and rest comfortably.
- It is extremely dry.
- It does not have much natural shade for people to refresh and feel better in the hot Portuguese climate.

We started to look for places that would offer more safety and comfort to all our public. The solution was not far – still on the shores of the lake of Idanha-a-Nova but in a different terrain.

- It has hundreds of century-old trees that will provide shade and playful moments.
- The camping area is flat and you can sleep much more comfortably than in the previous venue.
- The terrain is not as rugged as the previous one.
- The entrance roads and accesses are easier. We are working on a plan to avoid all traffic jams.
- The new terrain offers us wider possibilities to develop projects on permaculture and design Boom Festival under premises of environmental sustainability.

Some people say this is the best mix between both terrains where Boom has been held. The Mediterranean forest of Herdade do Zambujal (Boom 97, 98 and 2000) and Herdade do Torrão (Boom 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2008). It has the magic of trees and hidden forest beings and the wide views, the stunning lake and the amazing nature of Idanha-a-Nova.
